I love subs!

I've traveled around the world twice during my six year Navy career. I tried to indulge myself in as many exotic foods that I could during my travels. Even after everything I tried nothing makes me happier then a good Italian sub. During my time in Italy I ate numerous subs but to my surprise I enjoyed American's version of Italian subs better. In our local Maricopa area I have only really found one amazing Italian sub but I do have a few other sub places I still go to because of the price and variety. Bread and good meat is the key to a good sub for me. I love hard crusted bread with a soft center. Capicola is the key ingredient to a good Italian sub.

#3 Jersey Mike's Subs                                                     7410 W Bell Rd  Glendale, AZ 85308
I discovered Jersey Mike's with my friend Zach as I was living in Norfolk, Virginia. Jersey Mike's give's me the best of worlds with their Italian sub. The sub has a really soft bread that melts in your mouth. The meat is good quality but is nothing compared to my #1 choice. I like the atmosphere of this place too because it feels so homey. Luckily when I moved back to the Phoenix area they were a few locations here.

Mr. Goodcents is more of the typical sub place with average pricing. I love that their menu has so much more besides subs, such as Alfredo and lasagna. Lets get right down to business though and talk about their Italian sub. The bread here is absolutely amazing if you like soft bread. It really just melts in your mouth. Once again the meat quality is only sub-par but they do have a great selection of veggies that are worth trying.

Villa Deli is a authentic Italian shop deli. All products they use to make subs can be purchased at their deli counter to make at home.  First and foremost their meat quality is Boar's Head only. Their bread is homemade and has that perfect crunch to soft once eaten. Bug juice is the name for their homemade sauce and it is a mandatory on any sub! My favorite subs here is the Capicola and the Italian. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience and sub.

    You're quite a sub connoisseur aren't you? :-) I like the way you described the breads as melt-in-your-mouth.

    I might try eating at one of these places sometime if I come across them. I found it peculiar that you didn't make any mention of the most(?) mainstream sub restaurant, Subway. Do their subs not satisfy your tastes? Also, how do the prices of these places compare to Subway?

    Mm... Now I'm hungry... :'-(

    Interesting topic choice that is well presented and keeps the reader's attention. After you review your #1, a final paragraph or some sort of conclusion to wrap this up would help to make the post feel complete.

    Great topic! I can speak from experience about only one of those places. Mr. Goodcents is very close to my house and I love eating there. If you ever decide to go away from a sub you should try out the Alfredo chicken pasta. I will defiantly try out the Boar's head as well. Just like Mick I am starting to get hungry.

    Have you tried Captain Bill's on Peoria and 35th ave? Pretty good subs and an interestingly decorated restaurant.
